WASHING YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

Updated: Jul 3, 2019

We all love a great makeup day but dread the thought of washing those messy makeup brushes! Well we are here to tell you why its so important to properly wash your makeup brushes and the difference it makes on your skin as well as makeup application. Makeup brushes used on a regular basis easily get dirty and become the perfect breeding ground for bacteria! The bristles are tightly packed together, dark and usually stored together with other brushes. With product built up each day so comes bacteria that could be contaminating your makeup products and penetrating your skin. Sounds gross, we know! Using overly dirty makeup brushes could be the cause for break outs and other skincare concerns also.

Brushes with too much product build up do not blend out the makeup properly! You will work harder and take up more of your time.

If you use your brushes on a daily basis, giving them a good wash once a week is the ideal in order to keep them bacteria free!

- Simply wash them with a mild dish soap and room temperature water. - Do not use hot water as it will eventually break down the glue that keeps your brush together. - Wash your brushes with the bristles facing down so that water and soap is not setting on top of the glue which in tern will cause your brush to fall apart.

- Spray brushes with a little rubbing alcohol to further sanitize and leave it to air dry laying flat on paper towel over night. These very simple steps that will make a huge difference on your skin and how your makeup application turns out.
