ALL ABOUT EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Updated: Aug 30, 2019

Eyelash extensions are a method of eyelash enhancement made capable without the use of messy products like mascara or serums. Unlike strip lash extensions, where the hairs are already attached to a singular strip which is adhered to the lash line, eyelash extensions are applied one-by-one to the existing eyelash hairs. The individual lash hairs are most commonly made from mink, synthetic mink or horse hair and are applied by isolating the individual eyelashes on your eyelid and adhering the extended lash to the hair directly to increase fullness, length and even curl.

A full set of eyelash extensions can take about 2 hours to apply and last anywhere between 2 and 5 weeks depending on how well they are cared for (how you sleep, wash, touch the extensions etc.), at which point typically only a lash "fill" is required. Eyelash extensions come in two primary types: the natural look or the voluminous look. A natural lash extension simply adds longer hairs to your naturally existing lashes creating a "your lashes but better" appearance. Voluminous eyelash extensions incorporate hairs of a variety of lengths and curvatures that give a "fanned out" design.

Did you know that your natural eyelashes replenish themselves roughly every 6 weeks? Contrary to the misconception that lash extensions "pull out" your own lashes, they are naturally falling out on their own! While some think they are high maintenance, time consuming or expensive they fail to appreciate the benefits of lash extensions - the amount of time you save applying serums, mascaras, strip lashes, etc., every single day. As well, many extension advocates enjoy the wide range of individual creative expression extensions provide you as opposed to mass-produced strip lashes from your local beauty supply)!
